Glasgow Club Bouncers Set to Use body-mounted Cameras
Security staff at 15 pubs and clubs in Glasgow are to be issued with body-worn security cameras in a bid to reduce alcohol-related violence, reports the BBC. The equipment consists of a small camera which relays images to a jacket-mounted screen. This allows the person being filmed to see their image.
Strathclyde Police said use of the cameras in other areas of the UK had seen a significant drop in violence.The pilot project will run in Glasgow until 6 January.

Punch Taverns Prepare to Default on Loans
Punch Taverns is preparing to default on the loans on more than 5,000 pubs as it looks to restructure, according to reports in the Sunday Times.
The plan would result in the pubs being repossessed, but allow Punch, which was said by the Sunday Times to be "struggling with £3.1bn of debt secured against its pub estate", to take them back on better terms.
Earlier this year, Punch said it intended to sell off 1,300 of its UK pubs after a disastrous performance in its year-end results. The Burton-upon-Trent based company said it wanted to “stabilise” the business.
The company's resulted revealed a loss after exceptional items of £160m.
The company holds its annual general meeting next week.

24 Hour Drinking Clampdown
Thousands of bars across the nation are expected to slash their opening hours in response to the Government’s crackdown on binge drinking Britain.
The crackdown was revealed by Home Secretary Theresa May yesterday as she unveiled the Coalition’s Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill.
And in addition to proposing a £4,500 levy on pubs and bars that wish to open after midnight the Bill also proposes giving the public more power to influence licensing decisions.
24-hour drinking laws have come under sustained pressure and in July the coalition Government said they would reform the licensing system.
The figures, from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, reveal 7,800 premises have all-day drinking licences.
Of this figure, 1,000 are pubs, bars and nightclubs which is a 43 per cent rise since 2008.
The statistics, which show licenses as of March this year, also revealed that the numbers of premises allowed to sell alcohol are at their highest since records began over 100 years ago.
