UK Pub Decline Bolstered By Small Breweries
The Campaign for Real Ale has reported that despite the decline in beer sales and the closure of around 6 pubs a week, there are over 1,250 new pubs and 71 new breweries in their Good Beer Guide 2010. The 37th Guide is launched today and reviews more than 4500 pubs across the UK.

This is good news for Yorkshire where the closure of Tetley Brewery in Leeds was announced by Carlsburg UK earlier this year. It is thought that the closure of the one of the larger brewers may further stimulate the micro brewery market in Yorkshire, which boasts many Freehouses which suppport the micro breweries.
