Doncaster Sir Solomon pub is up for sale.

BELTON'S Sir Solomon pub is up for sale.

Following last week's article from London-based agents Paramount Investments about the King Edward Street watering hole the Bells/Advertiser has spoken to owners Admiral Taverns about its future.

Spokesman Mark Brown said: "The site is up for sale but no decision has been made about its future.

"It can be bought as a pub or can be knocked down and planning permission sought for another purpose but it's still trading as a pub at the moment."

The building is on the market for £325,000.

Former landlady Jo Carrington also contacted the Bells to clarify the reason for the naming of the pub.

Paramount Investments claimed it got its name from the horse that won the 1850 St Leger.

Jo said: "It's actually named after a local land owners horse, and there is a piece on the wall explaining it."
